Mercy General's origins date back to the mid 1800s with the arrival of the Sisters of Mercy. Their commitment to caring for the sick continues to be the cornerstone of our organization today. Mercy's nationally-recognized heart program – Mercy Heart & Vascular Institute – provides patients from throughout the Sacramento region and beyond with a full range of cardiac services from prevention and education to surgery and rehabilitation.
Mercy General is an integral part of its east Sacramento community, participating in local programs and events, providing education and health screening opportunities for area residents and supporting the efforts of other local organizations who share Mercy's mission and values.
